S. Ray Huffines received his BBA from Texas A&M University in 1974. Ray was a member of The Corps of Cadets and the Fish Drill Team that won the national championship. His senior year he was also a founding member of Parsons Mounted Cavalry. Following his service to Texas Governor Bill Clements as personal assistant from 1980-1983, Ray returned to Huffines Auto Dealerships continuing the legacy of one of our state's most respected franchise dealer families. Ray followed his father and grandfather in representing the third generation of the family to oversee the nine dealerships in the DFW area. Huffines Auto Dealerships has been awarded the Consumers Choice Award for Business Excellence for the ninth consecutive year (2008-2016) and was listed in the Dallas Morning News 'Top 100 Places to Work' (2011-2014).
Aside from his vigorous participation in the daily operations of the business, Ray is actively involved in numerous civic, political, and industry service organizations, as well as being a committed member of his church, Bent Tree Bible Fellowship. Ray is also a member of the Plano Rotary Club and past Chairman of the Plano Chamber of Commerce. He was formerly Vice-Chairman of the Plano Economic Development Board, and Advisory Board Member of the Plano Salvation Army, Hendrick Scholarship Foundation and Dallas Baptist University Trustee.
Ray has been happily married to Ann for 29 years and they have four children, three daughters and one son. The three older children are all graduates of Texas A&M: Mollie Wiesendanger '11 (and son-in-law Layne Wiesendanger '11), Sam '14, Libby '15, and the youngest, Emily is in high school.
